District 1

I was caucused to the County Council in 2020 to represent District 01 and it has been a wonderful experience. I am proud of all the fine people who work for our county and hope to continue representing District 01 and the town of Newburgh.

District 01 holds a very special distinction in Warrick County: 100% of District 01 residents live in Ohio Township, and 100% of the Town of Newburgh is represented by District 01. Because of this, I have been called THE NEWBURGH GUY on the county council.

My wife, Barbara, and I have been married 42 years and have lived in our Newburgh home for 40 years where we raised our 4 children.

Our children, Alli Whetstine-Folz, Kevin Whetstine, Nick Whetstine and Jessica Whetstine plus our 7 grandchildren all grew up in Newburgh.

I am a proud member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh where our children attended grade school.

I grew up in a small town and have worked in our family real estate business for 43 years. I understand the needs of small towns and businesses. Including the need to be strong and prosperous without losing the beauty of our hometown. As your County Councilman, my core priorities include:

  • Standing Behind First Responders & Public Safety: I stand 100% behind our local police, fire, and emergency medical personnel. I strongly support Public Safety LIT funding to ensure our law enforcement officers and emergency responders have the staffing, equipment, and resources they need to keep our families safe.
  • Investing in Youth & Community Parks: As a lifelong advocate for our local youth and parks, I served on the Board of Newburgh Girls Softball for 25 years and helped build the girls' softball program at Vann Road Park.
  • Dedicated Local Representation: Because District One is made up of 100% Ohio Township residents and represents 100% of Newburgh, I am focused entirely on bringing strong and caring leadership to the Newburgh area.

I am grateful for the trust you place in me and look forward to continuing to serve as "The Newburgh Guy" on the County Council.
